För ett tag sedan så postades en video där Bert och Quinn mellanmål för MTV’s blogg ”Buzzworthy”. Det är en serie som går just nu där kändisar gör sitt egna mellanmål. Det är kul att se Bert laga mat då det är en av hans stora passioner. Quinn är en bra hjälpreda också! Det har skrivits lite om det också och länken till detta hittar du nedan.
Har hittat en ny intervju med Dan angående sina trummor. Som ni kanske vet, eller vet nu i alla fall är att Dan spelar med SJC-trummor och kommer göra det resten av hans karriär. Den här intervjun har han gjort för SJC Tumblr.
VULBERABLE was recorded with a badass SJC kit at FOXY studios. I will be using SJC on all of my future recordings as well as every show I play all over the world until the end of time. I’ve never had a better sounding kit in my life and I’m so glad I have the opportunity to play theses drums. These guys go above and beyond to make a great kit no matter who you are or what band you’re In. They love drums more then you do and that’s why they make drums better then anyone. If you haven’t played an SJC then you need to ask yourself if you’ve ever really played drums at all ever…..wrap your mind around that one.

The last record seemed to have a lot of themes, it was obviously about a lot of tragedies in Bert’s life. Is there anything in particular in this one?
Well we went through loosing a drummer and it was different and it was a pretty harsh thing. We’ve had a lot of time to just reflect and to realize where he was at in life and realize who his real friends were and who his real friends weren’t and sort of gazing on everything. And then he had a bunch of personal things that I think that he went through that were more detailed that is more of his personal stuff that I don’t want to get into. We just don’t consider ourselves ‘emo’ or ‘screamo’ and we never have. We’re a rock band that’s all we’ve ever been. I think he just realized life and about life a little bit more. And you can definitely tell on this record, it’s definitely just, I want to say the most rock record that we’ve ever done. Most in your face rock. We actually wrote 40 songs and recorded 20 and we only put 11 on this record, so we’ve got nine more. songs that are kind of just floating around and we’re going to later put it on an E.P.

Are there any surprises fans can expect with the music or lyrics?
Bert’s not the most positive of lyrical writers and this record—there’s a lot of this “phoenix rising from the ashes” kind of thing. There’s a lot of positive tones coming from it. Definitely we got a little more experimental in the music we love. Bert and I actually love hip-hop and there’s a lot of hip-hop sounds on this record. It seems weird, but no matter what we do, no matter what music we have, Bert makes us sound like The Used because of his voice in the way he sings. We have a lot of different tones over this record of like R&B and hip-hop over like metal and blast beats stuff. But when you get down to the music of it, you can kind of tell that there’s these kinds of tones and textures and feelings to it that in all these years, we have never used.
Innan spelningen i London så gjorde Quinn, Jeph, och vad jag tror Dan, en intervju. Den är ganska ingående vilket är kul att det är första gången man verkligen får en förklaring angående videon till ”I Come Alive”.
The video for your single “I Come Alive” is quite graphic. How did you come up with that treatment?
J – To me it’s about that hate breeds hate. I mean, I don’t know if I’m right. But the little kid gets picked on by everybody including his family and then turns into something that’s so hateful, so negative and so monstrous it’s worse than what’s coming at him. And, it’s like in life that happens all the time; you walk down the street and walk into someone by accident. You don’t mean to, but the guy’s like “hey f**k you!”. And then for the rest of the day you’re like “f**k that dude,” and then bump into someone else and you say “hey f**k you” and it’s like a circle of hate almost.
D- It could be a sort of dream type video though, too.
J- It’s sort of over the top, we wanted it to be that way.
D- Just reading the comments that people have written about it, a lot of people hate it and a lot of people love it. That’s good I think; people are talking about it. Even with the music people say “f**k The Used” or “I only like the first album” or “I don’t like the artwork”, “I don’t like Vulnerable” and it’s like well, you’re on here talking about it so thanks and apparently you heard it.
J- I think the people that hate the video hate it for the wrong reasons. The things that they say about it are all the same things; “this is going to teach kids to kill kids” and they’re missing the point completely. It’s like parents that don’t teach their kids how to live so they learn to live by watching TV and then the parents blame the TV for raising their kids and it’s crazy!
Förut var bandet väldigt dåliga på att uppdatera sig men nu när Instagram finns så är det lättare att hålla koll på vad bandet gör. För er som inte vet vad Instagram är så är det en bildtjänst till framför allt iPhones där man kan posta bilder direkt från mobilen till sina olika sociala medier på internet. Tyvärr har inte Dan någon.
Just nu rullar det på med nya turnédatum och det gillar vi! Den 12 maj börjar bandet sin USA-turné och sedan blir det Warped Tour. Du kan se de senaste turnédatumen och information om dessa under Turné.
